INTERNISTS

Internists, or internal medicine specialists, are doctors specializing in internal medicine are often referred to as “internists”, “physicians”, or general medicine specialists depending on the country they practice in.

internists’ main task is the handling of hospitalized and ambulatory patients with multi-system diseases, or Developmental Disorder diseases. These conditions include conditions such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Behçet Disease, Dermatopolymyositis, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Sarcoidosis, Polyarteritis Nodosa, Mitochondrial Disorders, Wegener Granulomatosis, or Heredofamilia.

They are also involved in other subspecialties that deal with a specific organ(s) or organ(s) system, in addition to branching to the pediatric care.
