Organ transplant programs are the transfer of an organ or from a donor to a patient body in an attempt to substitute the recipient’s damaged organ.

Organs and/or tissues that are transplanted within the same person are called auto-transplant.

Transplants that are performed between two subjects of the same species are called allotransplant. Allotransplant can either be from a living or cadaveric source.
